Bed and Breakfast near Lezay in the Poitou Charentes. A warm & friendly welcome awaits you at this recently renovated former school house. Situated on the Charente, Vienne and Deux Sevres borders, this is the ideal place to stay. With it’s gentle climate and varied coutryside it is a gateway to exploring this beautiful and charming region of France
The main house offers 3 comfortable rooms. All have en-suite bathrooms- 2 with full bath & shower facilities, 1 has a hydro -massage shower cubicle.
The bedrooms are all equipped with electric heaters, ceiling fans to keep you cool in the summer and help keep the warmth in in the winter, CD/Radio alarm clocks, TV & DVD players and tea & coffee making facilities.
The guest dining room is available for your use with books and board games provided.
Set in the old walled playground the garden and terrace offer a peaceful setting to relax and where breakfast and evening meal can be served on request.
There is also a children's play area, sand pit and boules court. Under the shade of the 200 year old Horse Chesnut tree is the old school swing.
The many plum, nectarine, cherry and apple trees offer an abundace of fruit and you are welcome to taste, if the season is right!
POITIERS: A town of artistic architectural and historic interest. It boasts to be one of Frances foremost centres of romanesque architecture and outstanding heritage. Stroll through the town centre following the red, blue and yellow markings that link the most prestigious historic buildings.Also home to the famous ‘Futurescope’ theme park.

NIORT: An historic town on the banks of the Sevre Niortaise river, you can walk into the old town following the Dragon de la rue de Niort where 2 bronze dragons line the route to the old round tower and church of Notre Dame.

LA ROCHELLE:A beautiful historic sea port where you can hire a yellow bicycle to explore the architectural heritage and sample speciality foods and wines, visit museums and not forgetting the magnificent aquarium. Also take a cruise to visit the neighbouring islands and Fort Boyard.

COGNAC: Flourishing home of Hennessy, Martell and Otard with ancient streets and mansions built by cognac merchants on the banks of the river Charente.Now also host to film, music, comedy and literature festivals.

In nearby Lezay there is a bustling traditional market every Tuesday morning where you can sample local farm produce and wines including Pineau, goats cheese and blackened cheese tart, which are 3 specialities of this area.

You can also find in Lezay a beautiful park and pond as well as swimming pool, tennis courts, horse riding and fishing.

Locally you can visit the ‘Mines d’Argent’ and beautiful romanseque churches in Melle, the ‘musee de Ravranum’ at Rom and leisure lake at Celles-sur-Belles.

A little further afield you can delight in the historic towns of Poitiers and Niort. La Rochelle on the Atlantic coast and Cognac surrounded by it’s acres of vineyards. Also a must is ‘le Marais poitvin’- ‘green venice’.
